I have finally received information about my host family! I will be living in the suburbs of Karlsruhe, which is in Baden-Württemberg (according to Wikipedia). It is in Southwest Germany, right on the border of Germany and France. I am hoping this means some weekend trips to France

My host parents are Clemens and Annelie, and they have three children, Frederik, Jan and Kerstin. According to Kerstin, all three will be living at home during the year. I am used to having a brother, but it will be new and exciting to have a sister.
I am very happy to have found about this so soon; I was worried I would be one of those unlucky few who don’t hear about their family until they arrive in Germany.
